About me
Jasmin Fischer was born in Duisburg, Germany in 1976. She studied political science, journalism, and American studies, earning a Master’s in 2001. During this time, she spent a semester at SUNY Binghamton in New York and held internships at the Federal Press Office (Bonn, Germany), the United Nations Development Fund for Women (New Delhi, India), the Washington Times (Washington, DC), and the Deutsche Presse Agentur (Leipzig, Germany), amongst others.
She worked as a freelance journalist for the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (WAZ), the Washington Times, the Berliner Zeitung, and the Süddeutsche Zeitung before being hired as an editorial trainee with WAZ. She covered the United Kingdom and Ireland for many years as a London staff correspondent for a multitude of renowned broadsheets in Germany. Since 2017, she has moved out of journalism to become a Communications executive who helps large corporations tell their stories in a transparent, compelling way. Jasmin holds a doctorate in American Studies from the John F. Kennedy Institute of Freie Universität, Berlin.
